Mabel the Woebegone Whippet

The grand unveiling of my final foster-lurcher of the summer. This is Mabel the whippet/ lurcher. She is very shy and terribly sad. I don't know her story.

Mabel is pretty, graceful and dainty. She has obviously been well cared for, she is well-fed and her coat is as soft as a cashmere blanket. Who knows how she ended up as a stray.

I've always loved whippets. Mabel reminds me of the pooches Madam Noir and I saw in New York. Whippets seemed to be very popular with the skeletal, elegant and haughty Park Avenue ladies. We saw them everywhere. The ultimate size 0 dog!
